Dev-Team has finally released the long awaited unlock for iPhone baseband 05.12.01 OS 3.1.3 for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G in form of UltraSn0w 0.93. Using UltraSn0w 0.93 unlock users can unlock iPhone 05.12.01 baseband. Indeed a great news for all iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G users with Baseband 05.12.01 running iPhone OS 3.1.3. IMPORTANT:

  • UltraSn0w 0.93 can unlock baseband 04.26.08, baseband 05.11.07, baseband 05.12.01 and latest baseband 05.13.04.How to: check your iPhone Baseband
  • Can unlock firmware iOS 4.0, 3.1.3, 3.1.2, 3.1, 3.0
  • iPhone 3GS & iPod Touch 3G owners (especially if you used Spirit for your first JB) should stay away from iOS4 for now

    I have successfully (and finally) unlocked my 3G running 3.13/5.12.01/5.09. I would like to upgrade to 4.0. Should I? I’m using the Spirit JB.

      Thanks to Dev Team, finally i had also unlocked my 3GS 3.1.2 in india. I had bought the iphone from UK. I am still not able to configure my GPRS settings. Request you to please advice to configure/enable GPRS also.

    I was able to successfully unlock my 3GS 3.1.3 (Baseband 5.12.01), thanks you. I moved to Canada from US recently and was waiting for this unlock to come out.
    I am able to use a Rogers SIM (GSM), but my Bell SIM (HSPDA+) doesn’t seem to be working. 3GS is supposed to be HSPDA+ compatible, does anyone know if the unlock is limited to GSM features?

      found the solution, stupid me! I had the 3G off and it won’t work on Bell if 3G is off.

      My phone started to work, but the data didn’t even though I have data plan with Bell. I was getting the error “Could not activate cellular data network : You are not subscribed to a cellular data”
      After some digging I found that this was because the careers check if you have a iPhone data plan and if not they don’t allow access.

      To get this working you need to go to http://www.unlockit.co.nz/ and create a custom APN. This link gives more details: http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=60216

    Woohoo, unlock your iPhone 3G 3.1.3 baseband 5.12.01 now available in the unlock section, just unlocked mine on T-Mobile UK! You guys are the masters! just remember to disable 3G first and reboot to get service.

    hi all, i have an iphone 3gs 3.1.3 bb 5.12.01, NOT jailbroken. I bought this phone through ebay and i do not have an AT&T sim card to activate it. May i know how can i jailbreak it and then use ultrasnow in cydia to unlock the phone? Thanks in advance!

    hi i was jailbreak my iphone 3gs using snobreeze 1.6 iphone 3.13 baseband 5.12.01 my iphone 3gs stuck in recovery mode so i updated to IOS 4.0 now my iphone is in recovery mode anyone plz help and when i install snowbreeze custom firmware 3.13 itunes gives error 1604 and when i install the apple firmware 3.13 itunes gives an error 3194 plz help

    anyone experience problem?
    it just happen a few days ago where in Cydia it says that
    this iphone 3Gs with 3.1.3 cannot be unlocked.

    it was working when ultrasn0w just comes out.

    i don’t have the phone with me, but will post the screenshot soon when i get it tomorrow

    anyone here got Three (3) mobile – Australia?
    i put it in. the apn looks right.
    the top left bar shows up 3. but no reception
    i put in a Telstra sim and it work fine (it’s locked with Optus)

    I got an iPhone 3GS from the US with AT&T. Now I am in India. My Iphone is a 3GS 16g. Modem Firmware 05.12.01 Model MC135LL Version 3.1.3 (7E18), can it be unlocked using untrasn0w 0.93? is SPIRIT the best for Jailbraking this ophone?

    Hi there!
    Help would be really appreciated as Iam a little bit confused with the unlock for the iPhone 3GS on 3.1.3 with BB 5.12.01.

    I unlocked my phone with ultrasn0w 0.93 today and was very pleased with the results, however I have noticed that the carrier network logo changed at the top left near the antenna display even though I did not change my sim.
    In the settings, the phone says its on another network though the connection is still established by my regular carrier which sim Iam using.
    Before the unlock it displayed my regular carriers name at the top, as network provider and as connection provider.
    As Iam currently in Japan and have a japanese iPhone the regular carrier is Softbank, which would be displayed at the above mentioned spots in the phone. After the unlock it says NTT Docomo as the network provider, both at the top left and in the settings.
    Does this affect anything at all? Was the phone locked to not display the real network it is on until the unlock?

    I can call, surf the net, get mails, have gps and everything, however Iam curious if Iam still in the same old network I used to be before the unlock or if I am roaming and have to pay to be on a net I shouldnt be.

    Oh, and I have choosen to use my regular carrier, Softbank, in the network provider settings where you can choose. I cant choose anything else. I have the option to switch to JP Docomo but that does not work and on the other hand I had that option before the unlock anyway.

    Please help me clarify this problem.

    i have successfully unlocked my iphone 3g baseband 5.12 using ultrasn0w. after a month i cant get any wifi. what should i do. i have the wifi address and everything. toggled with the airplane mood .. done almost everything.. but cant get wifi.i know there is wifi available in the air because i get it in my laptop. help

    hi there need your help. got iphone 3gs 16g. 4.1 firmware 05.14.02 modem..
    down loaded cydia onto phone and then went into sources and installed the repo666.ultrasn0w.com to try unlock the phone but now keepos showing at top left of screen searching… for new provider… could anyone help in how to get my new provider on my jailbroke phone.. please give details and instruction as well

    Hey so i got a Jail Broken Iphone that i found, i think its jail broken anyway because iv been doing it all day, just to try and use it but obviously i haven’t got the right sort of SIM Card, just got mine. So how can i activate the phone with my SIM without being able to get into the Phone, Would love some help. cheers

      Yoon, first of all..your statement is very vague. Kindly specify the following:
      (1) did u buy off the iPhone from eBay?
      (2) is it locked?
      (3) is it an iPhone 3G,3Gs or 4?
      (4) what firmware does it currently has?
      (5) what modem firmware does is has?

      Step 4 and 5 can be checked by going to Setting-General-About in ur phone.

      Note: if you have Cydia icon means that your iPhone has been jailbroken
