i have just bought a new ipod touch in korea, it seems exactly the same but when i go to settings to find my baseband it is simply not there, i am interested in jailbreaking it but not sure if im compatible, any help?
baseband is available in iPhone only because it’s responsible for making calls.

I have a iphone 3G, I have jail broke it with redsn0w for software version 4.2.1. The problem I’m having is that I can’t seem to unlock the provider that I want to use, ultrasn0w 1.2 only works with base bands for the 3G at 04.26.08, 05.11.07, 05.12.01, 05.13.04 and 06.15.00 my current baseband (modem firmware) is 05.15.04 with Telekom.de……someone please help!!!!

I am wanting to jailbreak and unlock an iPhone 3G running 4.0.1.
It is not yet setup via iTunes, as I am about to sell it to a customer.
I did the jailbreakme.com and thought I was ready to unlock it,
and then realized, after so much reading prior to jailbreaking,
that iOS 4.0.1 cannot be unlocked.
So now I am trying to:
1) Figure out a way to unlock it as 4.0.1, or
2) Restore back into iOS 4.0 and then re-jailbreak it and THEN FINALLY unlock it.
Any help would be appreciated!

Hey, Don’t worry.. If u feel Your jailbreak is the reason for call blocks, restore with your itunes. Your phone will revert back to old conditions (Hope you didnt change your base band for jailbreaking – coz if u had done that, restoring wont be possible)
After restore check, if it works well.. Then jailbreak it again properly. Hope this would help u

I had purchased a jailbroken and unlocked iphone around 6 months back. The iOS on that is 4.0.1 woth Modem Firmware as 01.40.52 . I am planning to upgrade the iOS to 4.3.3 as some of the apps that I want to run are supported by this version and I found a lot of help on net that teaches about how u can jailbreak and unlock ur phone with this iOS version . But all talk about preserving the baseband to 01.59.00 . Now am not sure how I can get the baseband 01.59.00 before I start the jailbreak/unlock process.
Is there smthg like if I upgrade the iOS from 4.0.1 to 4.3.3 the Firmware will automatically get upgraded from 01.40.52 to 01.59.00 ?
