Apple has released the final iOS 4.0 firmware for iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G and iPod Touch 3G, 2G. You can Download iOS 4.0 from the links below. We have already posted a complete list of iOS 4.0 features.

Warning: Jailbreakers and unlockers must avoid iOS 4.0 firmware. Updating may result in losing the jailbreak or unlock. We strongly recommend you to stay away from iOS 4 firmware and wait for the new jailbreak and unlock tools like PwnageTool, Sn0wBreeze, RedSn0w, UltraSn0w, Blacksn0w to come out. Update: RedSn0w 0.9.5 b5-3 is available now. iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G users can go for iOS 4.0 (Jailbreak and unlock guides for iOS 4.0 are linked below).

Note: For now the iOS 4.0 is available for iPhone and iPod Touch only.iPad users will be getting iOS 4.0 update later this year. iPhone 2G and iPod Touch 1G users are not getting iOS 4.0 update, sorry guys.

as of today 22 june is your warning asking jailbreakers to stay away from the firmware upgrade still hold valid? one section of your website says you can jailbreak and unlock whiles other sections says avoid it whats the real situation on the ground now? is it safe to upgrage or the wait is still not over? please update us as to whether we still wait or we can safely upgrade to the new firmware IOS4

    So I just bought an iPhone3GS on Ebay, only to find out after the auction that the seller had upgraded to iOS 4. I’m not 100% sure which boot-rom is in the phone yet. I should get the phone this week. I know for sure that I will not have access to the SHSH blobs for the old OS.
    
    Am I boned until a method becomes available to jailbreak an un-jail-broken 3GS with iOS4, or is there a way I don’t know about?
    
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

        I have an update.
        I got the 3GS in the mail today. It is loaded with iOS4, baseband 05.13.04 and bootloader 06.04. Are there any tools available to jailbreak this now? Or is this still a work in progress?

        If you are running 4.0 or 4.0.1 just use Safari. Type http://www.jailbreakme.com into the web address bar and follow instructions, if it won’t run its because you have 4.0.2 and then you will need to downgrade to 4.0, which the shsh may still available. For that try tiny umbrella to locate your 4.0 shsh. Let me know if you need help. I just recently did all this and those youtube help videos leave out 4 very import things you must do to accomplishthe downgrade.

I have iphone 3gs 3.1.3 which is jailbroken with spirit. I want to install OS4 in it.I have some questions:
1.If i restore my OS to 4 then will my baseband be updated?
2.Can i again jailbreak my iphone as i have previously jailbroken with sprit?
3.Can i unlock it?

  2. NO, you must be @ 3.1.2/3.1.3 (depending on bootrom) and restore custom firmware
  3. UltraSn0w can unlock all baseband to date. but you must be jailbroken

When I tried jailbreaking my Ipod touch 2nd gen v4.0, The process stops at the: Please wait while your divice is being processed, Waiting for reboot.

Nothing loads then.. My IPod screen is still off.. nothing shows. I don’t know whats wrong with it. also, my IPod is a PC model, not MC. Please tell me whats wrong?

Can anyone please help? I am trying to jailbreak iphone 3g 4.0.1 using redsn0w. After down loading 4.0 restore it does not save as an IPSW file, any suggestions?

i have a iphone 3g i downloaded the version 4.0.2 .. i tryed to put red snow but after i hold the power botton and the rest of the processe its downloading and then reboots but at the 3 reboot it stays their? Please HELP!!!!!!

I have Apple iPhone 3GS 4.0.1 which was unlocked and jailbroken using ultra snow. Everything was working fine. I had installed MXtube. When I tried to uninstall it and Reset all setting, it asked me to reboot. when it tried rebooting it got stuck in Apple logo. Now I’m not able to boot it at all. Eveytime I try to boot it, it shows apple logo for few seconds and thats it.

Please help me.
