       i heard that redsn0w 0.9.6b1 will update baseband and ultrasn0w will not be able to unlock at this moment. is it true? or is there any new versions of ultrasn0w can unlock the new baseband now? please advise. many thx in advance.

   Hey evebody i know All of you are excited
   I found a way to update your firmware to 4.1
   Without updating your baseband or modem
   It will be really useful for the people that is running
   4.0.2 and want to jailbreak and unlock but want to keep old
   Base band!
   This is how:
   First download 4.1os then have your iPhone 4 o 3GS
   Ready to update
   Plug it to iTunes and then recover holding shift and look for the firmware
   4.1 your going to update
   Then update but when the process it’s on it’s half way
   Unplug your Internet service it will continue restoring but I guess the las part of rstoring is upgrading the baseband but since isn’t plug to the Internet service
   iTunes won’t do that part it will send you and error message and the iPhone
   Will stay in dfu mode
   Use tinyumbrella to kick out of recovery mode
   And listo!
   Updated but with your old base band
   Then just run limera1n and jailbreak then install cydia
   And ultrasnow this is for everybody that needs to unlock
   And preserve old basebands from 4.01 or 4.02 it was easy
   And it work for me

     I have done this! Many times and it works so if you want to update to
     4.1 and keep your old base band do it!

     It will work I have 3 iPhone 4 that where running 4.02 with and ulockable base band i updte to 4.1 and it kept it as it was did not update my base band

       Are u sure this will not cripple my already unlocked and jailbrocken 3gs? Because i cant use it without unlock.

         This metthod is NOT verified.

         There’s only one way to preserve iPhone 3GS / 3G baseband i.e. PwnageTool custom firmware.

         However iPhone 4 users can also use Tinyumbrella to preserve baseband.
         RECOMMENDED: iPhone users, avoid the above mentioned method and wait for PwnageTool instead.

       Hi,
       I have iPhone 4, 4.1 baseband 2.10.4 (factory unlocked, simfree)
       I want to jailbreak(want to try Intelliscreen App)… Hope after jailbreaking i do not have to unlock as it was unlocked phone… so which one i should use
       Greenpoisone
       Limera1n

       then do i have to unlock too???

   i have an itouch 3g 16g; i up gradated it from 3.1.3 to 4.1 .

   but it can not be jailbreak it by limerain (RC!1 BETA 2) neither by

   greenpoison (rc4) ..?

   are there any jailbreak tools to do it so..?

   I own a 3GS with iOS 4.0.1, jailbreak(JailbreakMe) and unlocked(ultrasnow). Should I upgrade to 4.1 or wait until iOS 4.2 become available? Need to preserve baseband?
