yes it appears 3GS new bootrom is not working atm, fix coming according to website
yeah, tryed it out with OS 4.1 NewBootrom and it’s not working, hope it gets fixed soon…
it says some sort of error with the itunes file or something
i didn’t get that mistake, it simply didnt install cydia or freeze. as i rebooted it was just the same as before. But I’m sure Geohot will get it fixed soon.
i was depressed all week because i have a middle east iphone 4 that has no facetime option, and just before heading to sleep i saw this, i just jailbreaked my device, this guy will get plenty of donation from me

use tinyumbrella to save your SHSH
if you previously saved your SHSH with Cydia, you should be able to restore to 4.0.1 or you can go to 4.1 and then use limera1n to JB.
backup your phone first.
oh, try re-install itune 9.1
or itune 10.

I found a way to update your firmware to 4.1
Without updating your baseband or modem
It will be really useful for the people that is running
4.0.2 and want to jailbreak and unlock but want to keep old
Base band!
This is how:
First download 4.1os then have your iPhone 4 o 3GS
Ready to update
Plug it to iTunes and then recover holding shift and look for the firmware
4.1 your going to update
Then update but when the process it’s on it’s half way
Unplug your Internet service it will continue restoring but I guess the las part of rstoring is upgrading the baseband but since isn’t plug to the Internet service
iTunes won’t do that part it will send you and error message and the iPhone
Will stay in dfu mode
Use tinyumbrella to kick out of recovery mode
And listo!
Updated but with your old base band
Then just run limera1n and jailbreak then install cydia
And ultrasnow this is for everybody that needs to unlock
And preserve old basebands from 4.01 or 4.02 it was easy
And it work for me
