If you own a jailbroken iPhone and have installed some apps via Cydia, you will notice that when you try to delete any app from your SpringBoard (Tap and hold on the icon) an “X” appears, where you tap and remove the app . But in case of Applications installed via Cydia, there will be no “X” with them (Screenshot available). You will need to go to
Cydia > Manage > Packages>find your targeted package > Modify > Remove > Confirmto uninstall those apps. Now that’s the only bad thing about Cydia, I noticed.
But don’t worry, Now, CyDelete is out there for you. CyDelete solves the uninstallation problem with Cydia installed application and have brought much convenience to iPhone owners.
After installing CyDelete you will be able to remove Cydia applications directly from your SpringBoard the same way you remove App Store Applications (Tap and hold on the icon, it will start wiggling and then tap “X” that appeared on top-left corner).
CyDelete is available to download via Cydia for Free!
Open the Cydia from your iPhone SpringBoard.
Tap Search Tab from Bottom Right corner and in the search box input: ‘cydelete‘ and select CyDelete from search results.
Press Install and then Confirm button available at the top right side of the screen.
Cydia will download and install CyDelete. When done, Press the big Restart SpringBoard button at bottom.
On you SpringBoard, press and hold an app icon, all icons will start wiggling. Now you can see “X” is available for both App store and Cydia applications. (Before and after screenshot is available)
CyDelete is still in beta so we can expect crashes but so far it’s working fine on my iPhone.
Go get this handy app and don’t forget to share your views about it.
