Today, Apple has sent out invites to its much-anticipated iPhone 8 event to the media folks. Apple is going to hold the mega media event on September 12 at 10 AM PT at the newly built Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park (company’s new spaceship-like campus.)
The invite that the company has sent out to the media carries a tagline that reads “Let’s meet at our place” which pretty much suits the upcoming event considering the fact that it’s being held at Apple’s own newly built auditorium.
The spotlight of this upcoming event is expected to be the iPhone 8 – 10th anniversary iPhone edition. The said handset is widely expected to come with a glass front and back design with a metallic chassis. The device is also expected to feature a bezel-free front with a notch design similar to the one seen on the Essential Phone. Other expected features for the device include OLED display, fast wired charging, wireless charging, A11 chipset, 3GB of RAM, facial recognition system, and a vertically aligned dual-camera setup on the back.
Alongside the iPhone 8, Apple is also expected to launch ‘s’ revisions of the current iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus at the event. While these new iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus models will also feature glass design, their overall design language will be identical to the iPhone 7/7 Plus. Both of these models will have LCD display like the current iPhone models and will not get the facial recognition feature. However, Apple is rumored to add wireless charging feature to these two models as well.
Other than the three new iPhone models, Apple is also expected to introduced new Apple TV with 4K video and HDR support.
