iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 Jailbreak Update for A5+ Devices

With the iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak is being worked on by Winocm, many had started speculating that there may be an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.4 and iOS 6.1.3 shortly after the iOS 7 firmware public release. Here’s some good news for all the folks holding off from updating to iOS 7 in the hopes of an iOS 6.1.4 and iOS 6.1.3 jailbreak

iH8Sn0w, the developer behind Sn0wbreeze, has confirmed in a blog post that an untethered iOS 6.1.4/6.1.3 jailbreak for A5+ devices is indeed in the works. As per iH8Sn0w, the untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.4 and iOS 6.1.3 will work on all A5+ devices, which means following devices will be supported:

  • iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS
  • iPod Touch 5G, iPod Touch 4G
  • iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad mini

iH8Sn0w, with Winocm, is currently working on fixing some issues such as:

These range from Applications automatically deleting themselves from the uicache to iMessage/Facetime activations not working (even on legit sims).

He further details that they are currently able to tether jailbreak iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 4g (except for iPhone 3GS with an older bootrom). The exploits being used in the development of iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 jailbreak are useless for iOS 7, he explains.

As far as the release date of this untethered jailbreak for iOS 6.1.3/6.1.4 is concerned, iH8Sn0w clearly says that they have no idea when the bugs will get fixed. So, there’s no ETA, but he will keep us posted on the progress.

We’ll let you know as soon as there’s an update about this upcoming iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 6.1.4 jailbreak.
