Download iOS 5 Beta 4

Apple has pushed the iOS 5 beta 4 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch to the developers via iOS dev center. The iOS 5 beta 4 brings OTA (Over-the-Air) iOS update and other minor tweaks. You can download iOS 5 beta 4 from the iOS Dev Center (requires dev account).

Unlike previous iOS 5 beta releases, Beta 4 lets all iPhone, ipad and iPod Touch users running iOS 5 beta 3 to update to iOS 5 beta 4 Over-the-Air. The beta 4 is also available via Apple’s Dev Center and carries a build number 9A5274d.

iOS 5 beta 4 can be installed using over the air software update from devices that have iOS 5 beta 3 installed. Over the air software update can be initiated by choosing General > Software Update in Settings.

Apple has also enabled documents in the cloud on iOS beta 4. Documents in the cloud feature of iCloud allows apps to store documents and data on Apple’s servers, enabling cross-platform (iOS-iOS, iOS-Mac) sync. (9to5mac)

The OTA iOS update is a delta update, meaning it only downloads what’s new NOT the full iOS IPSW. For iPhone 4, it weighs in at around 140 MB (full IPSW weighs 786 MB).

iOS 5 was unveiled last month at WWDC 2011 which beings 200+ new features. We have already listed iOS 5 Features. Prominent features includes Reminders, enhanced Mobile Safari, iMessage, and OTA firmware updates.
