After months of rumors, speculation, and reports, Apple has finally revealed its larger and greater iPad Pro with a 12.9-inch display during a media event in San Francisco. Apple seemed very excited while introducing its largest iPad model in it history and that with a Stylus dubbed as Apple pencil. The 12.9-inch display of the iPad Pro offers 2732×2048 resolution resulting in 5.6 million pixels on it.
Apple has also announced a stylus named “Apple Pencil” for the iPad Pro. The Apple Pencil is both tilt and pressure sensitive, allowing you create a variety of strokes and effects – from a thin line to subtle shading. You have to charge the Apple Pencil to use it with the iPad Pro, however, charging it is pretty fast and convenient – simply plug it in the iPad Pro and you’ll get 30 minutes of battery life from just 15 seconds of charge time.
Size-wise, the iPad Pro comes in the same width as the iPad Air is tall, which means – in landscape mode – the iPad Pro can display two screens of an iPad Air in portrait mode. The larger screen on the iPad Pro has enabled Apple to introduce a full-sized touch keyboard for a better typing experience. All these new split-screen and full sized keyboard features make the device more productivity oriented. Apple has also borrowed the custom display timer controller from the iMac for its new iPad Pro.
Specs wise, the iPad Pro is the faster and strongest iPad in the history of Apple. It includes an all new A9X processor with 64-bit desktop class architecture. Compared to the iPad Air 2, it delivers up to 1.8 times the processing speed and double the graphics performance. Despite offering a faster processing chip, the iPad Pro still manages a battery time of 10 hours.
iPad Pro features an 8MP iSight camera, a FaceTime HD camera, 802.11ac wireless support, and support for 150Mbps LTE speed. The devices weight only 1.57lbs and its thickness is measured at 6.9mm only. There is a four speakers system in place for the iPad Pro, which is the first time for Apple to introduce such speaker setup. The speakers are programmed to adjust and balance the sound depending on how the user is holding the device. The output of iPad Pro speakers is 3x louder than the iPad Air 2.
Apple has also launched a keyboard accessory for the iPad Pro just like the one Microsoft’s Surface Pro.The smart keyboard comes with a smart connector to get attached with the iPad Pro and offers seamless pairing.
iPad Pro will be available in November with $799 price tag for its base model which will have 32GB of storage capacity. The device is available in three color options: Silver, Space Grey, and Gold.
