Dev-team has released PwnageTool 4.0, the jailbreak tool for iOS 4 firmware. Using PwnageTool 4.0, you can jailbreak iPhone 3GS (Old BootRom), iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G (Non-MC) running iOS 4 and it preserves the baseband so you can unlock iPhone 3GS, 3G with UltraSn0w 0.93.

In this guide you’ll learn how to jailbreak iPhone 3GS running iOS 4 firmware with PwnageTool 4.0.

We strongly recommend you to read PwnageTool 4.0 release notes posted here and then proceed.
You can jailbreak iPhone 3GS with OLD BOOTROM only + it must already be jailbroken but NOT with Spirit jailbreak.
Mac OS X only

It is the only Mac software.
How about Window?
And, what if I got Spirit as my first jailbreak, how can I unlock my 3gs idevice(old bootroom).

what if you’re on 3.1.3 Spirit JB. and old BootRom
how do i go about into 4.0 ?

and i don’t have SHSH for 3.1.2
only SHSH for 3.1.3

i’ve tried it.
old bootrom, 3.1.2 JB with @ blackra1n.

use a Mac to create CFW iOS 4.0
but keep getting error 1600. (DFU mode)
normal mode i get 1604
anyone got this fix?

I just bought an Iphone 3gs with baseband 05.13.04. , old bootrom and already running ios4. Its never been previously jailbroken. Is there a way for me to jailbreak?

  use tinyumbrella to check if you’ve SHSH blobs for older firmware
  or wait for the next jailbreak tool which is expected soon
