Apple has officially announced iOS 8, the latest major update to its mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, during the WWDC keynote in Moscone Center, San Francisco this morning. iOS 8 comes with come cool new features and massive improvements to its existing features as well.

Some of the features that has been on the wish-list of many iOS users has finally started making their way into the mobile OS. Interactive notifications is one of those features. Now you can respond or take actions for different notifications right from the notifications center. Also the 3rd-party apps updated for iOS 8 can take advantage of the interactive notifications.
iOS 8 brings a lot more intelligent Spotlight search to the iOS. Type in your query and Spotlight intelligently recognizes what you’re trying to search. For instance, a search for movie may return with results for nearby theaters, and iTunes results. Queries related to places will return results from Wikipedia and Maps.
Recent Contacts in app switcher
Apple has made use of the empty space available in the multitasking app switcher that it introduced in iOS 7. iOS 8 now shows the most recent contacts and the key people at top of the switcher cards in the form of circular avatars.
Other iOS 8 announcements include: HealthKit and an associated Health app, QuickType – a smarter, faster way to type on your iPhone and more.
