Apple Announces iPhone X, iPhone 8, and iPhone 8 Plus

Apple has finally unveiled its most-anticipated new iPhone models during a media event held at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park campus. The 2017 iPhone lineup includes two upgraded models: iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, and a 10th-anniversary model called iPhone X (iPhone 10). The iPhone X is the most exciting iPhone model announced at Apple event on September 12. The iPhone X comes with a 5.8-inch OLED display that is edge-to-edge with no Home button. Yes, you read that right, Apple has completely removed the home button from the iPhone X. The iPhone X has a what Apple calls Super Retina Display with 2436 x 1125 resolution and 458ppi density. It supports 3D Touch

To make up for the lack of Home Button Apple has introduced an all-new Face ID feature in iPhone X. The Face ID is a 3D depth sensing feature that scans your face for authentication purposes. The same Face ID can also be used for Apple Pay Payments. Finger gestures and swipes are used to unlock the device and go into multitasking.

The front and back of the device are made up of glass and a metallic frame is sandwiched between the two. The device is powered by an A11 chipset and we assume that it has 3GB RAM. It has 12MP dual camera setup vertically aligned on the back.

iPhone 8 and 8 Plus

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are upgrades to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus with same 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch displays respectively. The only design changes Apple made to the iPhone 8/Plus over its predecessors are the glass back and a new Gold colour. The display of these new display supports True Tone. These two devices are powered by the A11 Bionic chipset.

The larger iPhone 8 Plus has 12MP dual camera setup while the smaller sibling has a single 12MP shooter. On the front, both have a 7MP front-facing camera. The cameras are capable of shooting 4K video 60@fps and a full-HD video @240fps.

Both devices support wireless charging and fast wired charging. These devices support all the wireless charger made on Qi charging standard available in the market.
