The iOS 12.1.1 first beta comes just one day after the release of iOS 12.1 final version. iOS 12.1 is a major point update for iOS 12 and it brought numerous new features to Apple’s mobile operating system for iPhone and iPad.
You can download install iOS 12.1.1 beta 1 from Apple Developer Center if you are a registered Apple developer. If your device is already running a beta version of iOS, you can easily install any new beta release as an Over-the-Air update.
You can iOS as an OTA update by going to Settings > General > Software Update. If your device is not already running a beta version, you are required to properly configure a beta profile on your device and only then you will be able to install a beta release. What’s new in iOS 12.1.1
- Apple has made user interface improvements to FaceTime.
- The update reintroduces the feature that allows iOS users to take a LIve Photo during a FaceTime call.
- Apple has reworked the bottom bar to include quick access buttons for flipping the camera and muting a call.
Since iOS 12.1.1 is a point update, do not expect any major new feature from it. It is meant to address bugs and the company could not fix in iOS 12.1 software update. Even the official release notes for the beta reads “contains bug fixes and improvements.”
Since the release notes are non-specific, we may not know exactly what Apple has fixes through this beta until the company provides more specific details. We will update this post as we learn more about this release.
