iPhone 8 Pre-Orders might get delayed until October

Apple is all set to unveil its latest iPhone models; iPhone 8, iPhone 7s, and iPhone 7s Plus at September 12th event next week. Millions across the globe are eager to learn more about the launch date of iPhone 8 when it’s going to hit the shelves of the retail stores.

If Apple goes by its history, the company usually makes the new hardware available for pre-order within three days of unveiling. A new publication from Macotakara states that this is going to be the case for upcoming iPhone devices as well. If turns out to be true, Apple should be accepting pre-orders for iPhone 8, iPhone 7s, and iPhone 7s Plus by September 15th.

However, the report also states that instead of hitting retail stores one week later, Apple has decided to ship iPhone 8 to customers in October. However, this applies only to the iPhone 8 due to the production related challenges. The other two iPhone models, the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus will hit the retail shelves on September 22nd – a week after the company begins accepting the pre-orders.

There are chances of the company pushing back the pre-orders date for iPhone 8 than the usual due to delayed shipping.

For those unfamiliar, the iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are going to feature the same design as the current iPhone 7 models. The upcoming iPhone models are also expected to feature wireless charging. To support wireless charging the devices will feature glass body. Other expected improvements include a faster chipset, better camera module. Despite the hardware bump and glass body of the iPhone 7s/Plus, the iPhone 8 is going to be the star of the show. With a premium price tag of around $1,000, the iPhone 8 will feature an OLED display with almost no bezels, wireless charging, vertically aligned dual-camera setup, and facial scanner.
