iPhone 7 Plus is the most popular 5.5-inch iPhone model Apple has ever made, according to Tim Cook, the company’s CEO. The current latest iPhone 7 Plus and already surpassed its predecessor the iPhone 7 Plus and the iPhone 6s Plus in the number of units sold.
Apple first introduced the larger 5.5-inch iPhone model with the iPhone 6 series in 2014. While the bigger sibling looks identical to the 4.7-inch variant, the “Plus” version comes with better internals than the non-Plus variant. The “Plus” version has always offered better camera capabilities than the non-Plus version other than having a larger battery pack.
Apple remained committed to its trend and introduced a stunning new camera setup with the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus. The iPhone 7 Plus camera features a dual-lens camera setup that has a wide-angle lens and a 56mm telephoto lens that supports a variety of shooting conditions. The telephoto lens offers a Portrait mode that can capture pictures with DSLR-like Bokeh-effect. This effect highlights the main object and blurs whatever is in the background.
Even though Apple was experiencing supply related issues, it still managed to sell a record 78.3 million iPhone 7 units in the quarter. The fruit company’s CEO confirmed that the company underestimated the iPhone demand issues leading to a shortage of the smartphone that impacted sales over the quarter.
