iPhone 7 and the Plus case renders tease Smart Connector

Apple introduced the Smart Connector in 12.9-inch iPad Pro and later the smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro also received the same feature and now rumors are claiming the same connector to land on iPhone as well.

The alleged renders of the cases meant for iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus have surfaced and these cases fail to reveal anything that we have not heard in various rumors so far. It won’t be wrong to call it a perfect representation of what rumors and reports have claimed so far for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, but all this is unofficial.iPhone 7 Plus case renders

The cases clearly show the missing cutout at the bottom for the 3.5mm audio jack, which adds weight to the rumor that Apple in indeed planning on removing the 3.4mm audio jack port from its upcoming iPhone. Most of the previous have made the same claim except for a few recent ones which say otherwise. If the majority of the reports, rumors, and these case renders are to be believed, future iPhone owners will have to live with Lightning headphones.

The case renders also shows that the larger 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus will not only incorporate the much rumored dual-camera system on the back but that the larger sibling will also be getting Smart Connector. The dual camera system rumor refuses to go away, but some rumors claim that the upcoming larger iPhone variant won’t be getting Smart Connector which Apple has introduced in its iPad Pro lineup.

On an iPad Pro, the Smart Connector makes it possible to have streamlined covers such as Smart Keyboard. However, these renders indicate that the Smart Connector won’t work too well with anything connected directly to the back of the iPhone 7 Plus. A cutout for Smart Connector can be seen on the case, but the case would it harder to connect anything through Smart Connector.

It is quite possible that these renders have been created based on an older information and are not the true representation of what Apple has planned for its next-generation flagships.
