Recently, a lock screen bug allowed users to bypass the passcode and have a limited access to the apps on the device. It was discovered that if a user inputs the passcode incorrectly for a few times, and the last try after which the device locks out the user for one minute, invoking Siri would allow access to the Contacts and Photos applications on the device. While these are only two apps, but gives away a lot of personal information to unauthorized folks, so a patch was required on a priority basis.
Apple releases iOS 9.0.2 software update to address the exact same security flaw. The update also incorporates numerous bug fixes and performance improvements.
