iPad mini 4 will be a smaller version of the current iPad Air 2 reports Mac Otakara, a Japanese blog. The report is in line with some of the previous reports claiming the same thing.
The report claims that the fourth-generation iPad mini will come with some of the same features found in iPad Air 2 including hardware specifications such as an 8-megapixels rear camera dubbed as iSight, possibly a fully laminated display coated with anti-reflective material display. The report further suggests that Apple will launch this new iPad mini 4 alongside “iPad Pro” later this year.
Contrary to a recent report from Taiwan-based Economic Daily News, Mac Otakara claims that an A9 based iPad Air 3 is on its way and will also be launched alongside iPad mini 4. Economic Daily News believes that 2015 will the year of 7.9-inch iPad mini 4 with no refresh for the iPad Air 2 and company will be focused more on its larger-sized iPad Pro. Additionally, there are rumors that iPad mini 4 will be the last iPad mini refresh and company will focus only on iPad Air and iPad Pro.
KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who has a reputable record of predicting apple upcoming product plans, has reported in a note to developers that iPad mini 4 will essentially be a smaller version of the iPad Air 2. However, he said nothing about the iPad Air 3 or the iPad Pro in his recent note.
Considering the declining iPad sales from five consecutive quarters and the last year’s iPad mini could not make the difference, releasing three new iPads could help the company revive its declining iPad product category. While Mac Otakara has a good track record about Apple, but there is not enough evidence to support the launch of all three tablets side-by-side later this year.
