Apple’s 2015 Back to School Promotion offers $200 Beats Solo2 headphones for free

Apple has officially launched its annual Back to School promotion for 2015. Qualifying students, parents and educators will get a free pair of Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones with the purchase of an eligible Mac, including Macbook, Macbook Air, Macbook Pro, iMac and Mac Pro.unlike previous year’s promotion, iPhones and iPads are excluded from the eligible devices. As usual, the refurbished Macs and Mac mini are excluded from the offer.

Apple’s Back to School promotion runs from July 23 through September 18, 2015, at all the retail and authorized stores across the United States. Apple’s online store will begin the promotion on August 6 and it will run through September 18, 2015.

In previous year’s promotions, including the year 2013 and 2014, Apple offered up to $100 Apple Store gift cards with the purchase of eligible Macs, iPhones, or iPads. However, iPhone and iPads are not included in the eligible devices this year, and eligible customers will get the Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones which cost $199.95.

For the eligibility of getting free Beats Solo2 On-Ear headphones, customers must purchase eligible Mac from Apple, which includes the Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, and Mac Pro.

Apple is also offering eligible buyers the option to upgrade to Solo2 Wireless On-Earphones headphones by paying an additional by $100.

Apple usually launches its Back to School promotion in late June to early July, but this year, the promotion starts in late July. And it’s the first time since offering a free iPod Touch back in 2010 that Apple is not offering Apple Store gift cards in the promotion.

Last week, Angela Ahrendts, SVP of retail at Apple, had notified the retail employee in a memo that more insights about this year’s Back to School promotion will be shared this week. This memo from the SVP of retail at Apple and the delay led many to assume that Apple might not be launching Back to School promotion this year.
