TaiG 2.1.2 Jailbreak released; fixes Cydia Substrate, UI cache and more

Folks over at team TaiG have officially released TaiG 2.1.2 jailbreak tools for iOS 8.3 – iOS 8.1.3 to fix Cydia Substrate issue with iOS 8.3, UI cache among other bugs. TaiG released first version of iOS 8.3 jailbreak a couple of days ago, but Cydia substrate was not compatible with iOS 8.3 back then, resulting in most of the jailbreak tweaks and apps not working.

TaiG 2.1.2, however, addresses the issue with Cydia Substrate. Initially, it was thought that Saurik, the creator of Cydia, will be pushing an update to make Cydia substrate compatible with TaiG. But he later clarified that TaiG will need to update their jailbreak kernel patch to fix the issue. That’s what TaiG 2.1.2 has been released for.

Here’s the official change-log for TaiG 2.1.2:

  • Fixes problems of getting stuck at 20% and 60%, and adaptate for latest iTunes.
  • Compatible with Cydia Substrate(Mobile Substrate).
  • Corrects the blank Settings problem while matching Apple Watch with iDevice.
  • Fix issues of UI cache.

If you’ve already jailbroken your device with TaiG 2.0, there’s no need to re-jailbreak your device with TaiG 2.1.2. The hackers have also released TaiG 8.1.3-iOS 8.x Untether package into Cydia, that will allow you to upgrade TaiG jailbreak to 2.1.2 and fix Cydia Substrate issue on iOS 8.3 without re-jailbreaking your device.
