Apple has started accepting pre-orders for its newly announced iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 tablets in the US and several other countries around the globe. After a down time for selling preparations, the Apple online store is back live with both the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 pre-orders.
AT&T is also started accepting pre-orders for the cellular variants of the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 with an estimated delivery in 6-10 business days.
Apple is currently accepting iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 pre-orders in 29 countries including US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), UK and more. And Apple has promised to make these iPad models available in Croatia, Greece, Puerto Rico, Russia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and in other countries by the end of October, followed by more global availability of the devices in later months.
You can pre-order an iPad Air 2 WiFi only model for $499 with 16GB capacity, $599 for 64GB, and $699 for 128GB. The same models are also available with cellular connectivity capabilities with and additional cost of $130 with AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile carries in the United States.
Meanwhile, the iPad mini 3, which is a minor upgrade over its predecessor by featuring Touch ID fingerprint scanner and a gold color option, is available starting at $399 for 16GB, $499 for 64GB and $ 599 for 128GB model. If you wan to get a cellular model, it’ll cost to additional $130 just like the iPad Air 2.
Apple unveiled iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 on October 16th during a media event. iPad Air 2 comes with signifact improvements over the first generation iPad Air by featuring a thinner and lighter form factor, Touch ID, 802.11ac WiFi, 8MP camera and an anti-reflective screen coating that cuts down on glare. While the ipad mini 3 offers the same internal hardware as the iPad mini 2, but comes with Touch ID, a new gold color option and $100+ price tag compared to the iPad mini 2.
You can pre-order both models immediately from Apple’s online store. The company has not shared exact information about when the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 2 will be available in store, giving an availability date of “later next week.”
