Hacker Manages to triple-boot iOS 5.1, 6.1.3 and 7.0.6 on iPad 2

Winocm, the developer behind p0sixspwn, continues to hack the Apple devices for fun. This time he has posted a video of his iPad 2 triple-booting into iOS 5.1, iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 7.0.6. The video shows his iPad 2 booting into iOS 5.1 and then quickly switching to iOS 6.1.3 and then iOS 7.0.6.

Winocm has made quite a name for himself around the jailbreak community as a jailbreak developer and iOS device tinkerer. Other than the jailbreaks, now the triple-booting iOS on an iPad 2 is one of his new findings. In the description of the video, he clearly says that he didn’t use evasi0n to triple boot iOS 5.1, iOS 6.1.3 and iOS 7.0.6 on an iPad 2.

(Since some people can’t tell the difference between say, iOS 5 and iOS 6 based on icons. Oh well. Hopefully the massively white iOS 7 UI will open your eyes. Oh yeah, no evasi0n7 either. :D)
@winocm
release in 7 years..?

From the video, it’s clear that the process of triple-booting is at its early stages and honestly we do not see a user-friendly package of the tool becoming available to the general public. Another reason that Winocm might not consider releasing this tool is that he’ll be working at Apple later this year, and he wouldn’t want to do anything to jeopardize that.

However, the proof-of-concept is still cool and this could be useful for app developers who want to test their apps on various version of iOS. What do you think of triple-booting an iPad?
