MG Siegler from the TechCrunch confirms in a report that Apple is working on the next generation iPhone 5S in gold color. This news follows several weeks of of reports and alleged part leaks that the iPhone 5S will come in a gold color option…
Apple is known for releasing its flagship handset in two colors: black and white (or slate and silver in case of iPhone 5), but now it’s believed that Apple is going to add a third color option i.e. gold/champagne in an effort to differentiate the device from its predecessors.
Siegler has a solid track record with Apple intel. He accurately predicted iTunes Radio and other products. Here’s what TechCrunch’s MG Siegler reports:
Yes, there will be a gold iPhone.
That’s the latest I’m hearing from multiple sources after several weeks of rumors and possible component leaks suggesting the same thing. At first, I couldn’t believe Apple would break from the tradition of offering the simple choice: black and white (or “slate” and “silver” if you prefer for the iPhone 5) for their flagship device. Gold simply seemed too gaudy, perhaps even tacky. But a few compelling arguments countered my disbelief. And now, upon checking, sure enough, there will be gold.
Siegler believes that it’s more of a ‘champagne’ color. Recent leaked photos of purported gold iPhone 5S also supports the gold color idea.
Apple is expected to unveil next generation iPhone 5S alongside a cheaper model dubbed as iPhone 5C at a media event on September 10th.
