How to Untethered Your Tethered iOS 5.1.1 Jailbreak with Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether

There’s no need to restore and use Absinthe 2.0 to achieve untethered jailbreak. Simply install Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether package,available in Cydia, on your tethered jailbroken 5.1.1 device to easily untethered jailbreak your tethered 5.1.1 jailbroken device.


With Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether package, there’s no need to restore your 5.1.1 tether jailbroken device again and then use Absinthe to get the untethered jailbreak.

Follow the steps mentioned below to convert your tethered jailbroken device running iOS 5.1.1 into an untethered jailbreak with Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether…

Note:

  • iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 4G, 3G users with tethered 5.1.1 can Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether.
  • iPad 3, iPad 2, and iPhone 4S users will not be able to use this, because there was no iOS 5.1.1 tethered jailbreak for these devices.

Step 1

Open Cydia on your tethered jailbroken iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch.

Step 2

Go to Search tab and search for Rocky Racoon 5.1.1 Untether and install it.

Step 3

Now reboot your device to verify that it’s untethered jailbroken now and boots into the jailbreak state without performing a tether boot.

why is that after i untethered my 3gs using rocky racoon it doesn’t allow me to open cydia anymore!(btw i download and install the RR using cyder II) can anyone have some problem like me?!?!

For those guys who cannot avail the benefit of Rocky Racoon on thier devices from searching in cydia. They should go to change tab and update or upgrade the cydia tweaks. when it done then search again and You’ll find and install it. Works greaaaaat.

Sorry, your device/iOS version is not supported…
subprocess pre-instaalation script returned error exit status 1
Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

I am using IPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 with tethered jailbreak

Dammmm i tetherd jailbreak my iphone with redsnow because i had no original sim card ! Now i try to convert it to untetherd with rocky racoon 5.1.1 but it doesn’t works!
After installing it take me back to cydia ! it says its installed and it gives no error or something but when i reboot my iphone its still tetherd . :S :@ :@

The Rocky Install shows that it ran successfully. But as soon as I insert a new SIM card, the phone reboots and gets stuck on the “Activation Required” screen. Can someone help?
