Greenpois0n to Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Untethered [W.I.P]

Greenpois0n jailbreak is being worked on to bring iOS 5.0.1 untethared jailbreak. The news comes from Pod2g, who originally developed the untethered jailbreak exploit. In a blog post, he explains that he has handed over the untethered exploit information to the Chronic Dev-Team for a speedy release of the untethered jailbreak.

Since the untethered jailbreak is ready for A4 devices (as teased here: iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak), Pod2g has handed over all the A4 jailbreak related information to the Chronic Dev-Team, for packaging, bug fixes, and final deployment to the masses of the untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak for A4 devices (iPhone 4, iPad 1 and iPod Touch 4G). In doing so, he hopes to focus solely on the untethered jailbreak for A5 devices (iPhone 4S and iPad 2).

I need to focus on A5 and hope I can find a path quick, and I have the feeling that chronic-dev could help me.
I gave all the details to the chronic dev team so that they can finish, test, integrate and release the A4 jb ASAP.
I’ll put all my energy from now on on the A5

The Chronic Dev-Team, most probably, will release this untetehred jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1 in the form of updated Greenpois0n, a popular jailbreak tool developed by the team. On the other hand, Pod2g is actively working on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 jailbreak which a indeed a great news for both the A4 and A5 devices owners.

We’ll update you as we learn more about this upcoming Greenpois0n jailbreak and the iPhone 4S/iPad 2 jailbreak development. Stay Tuned!

They only thing that should b happening is all the apps in cydia should get n update to work with ios5, other than that who cares about untethered jb. Btw if they wanted to release it they would of back when iOS 5 came out .

Redsn0w 5.0.1 untethered jailbreak is here! The iPhone Dev Team has just released Redsn0w 0.9.10b1 for Windows and Mac OS X that lets you untether iOS 5.0.1. A5 devices are not supported at the moment so you cannot jailbreak iPhone 4S 5.0.1 or iPad 2 iOS 5.0.1 as yet. Here is the list of devices supported with this release:

Jailbreak iPhone 4, 3GS 5.0.1
Jailbreak iPad 1 5.0.1
Jailbreak iPod Touch 5.0.1 (4G and 3G)
Redsn0w 5.0.1 Jailbreak Guide:

What you need:

Dowbload iOS 5.0.1 firmware IPSW
Download Redsn0w 0.9.10: Windows: & MAC
http://pastie.org/3078869

Step 1: Update to iOS 5.0.1, if you haven’t already.

Step 2: Launch the Redsn0w and click on “Jailbreak” button.

Step 3: Now put the device in DFU mode. Follow on-screen instructions. You’ll need to:

Hold Power + Home button for up to 10 seconds.
Release Power button but continue holding Home button for up to 20 seconds.
Redsn0w will automatically proceed once your device is in DFU mode.

Step 4: Wait for Redsn0w to complete the jailbreak process, your device will reboot once done.

Good Luck
