This unlock iPhone OS 4.0 is demoed for iPhone 3GS running OS 4.0 beta 4 with Baseband 05.11.07. To unlock iPhone 3GS 4.0 with Blacksn0w, your 3GS 4.0 beta 4 must be jailbroken and baseband preserved at 05.11.07 with old iBoot (359.3).

The BlackSn0w unlock for iPhone 3GS OS 4.0 is kinda buggy ATM, you will have to reapply the patch files after each reboot. So, if you are not an experienced user, it’s highly recommended to stay away from this patch and wait for the dev-team to release unlock for baseband 05.12.01 which is expected as soon as the iPhone 4G along with iPhone firmware 4.0 comes out.

BlackSn0w RC2 is not released by GeoHot. The guy behind Push fix 2.0 has repackaged it for you.

IMPORTANT

• You must be running iPhone firmware 3.1.3
• You iPhone firmware must be 05.11.0
• Back up your iPhone via iTunes first

If you could not patch and install the blacksn0w manually, BlackSn0w RC2 has made it very easy for you by appearing in Cydia. Your iPhone 3GS and 3G must be jailbroken first and MUST be on Baseband 05.11.07. You can preserve your baseband at 05.11.07 and update to firmware 3.1.3 using a custom firmware created with Sn0wbreeze or PwnageTool:

• Download Custom firmware 3.1.3
• Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 using PwnageTool
• Jailbreak iPhone 3.1.3 using Sn0wbreeze

In order to unlock iPhone 3GS and 3G on Baseband 05.11.07 running iPhone OS 3.1.3 with BlackSn0w RC2, simply follow the step-by-step guide below..

Assuming that you’ve jailbreak your iPhone, now you can unlock iPhone 3.1.3 Baseband 05.11.07 using Blacksn0w RC2.

STEP 1

Run the Cydia from your iPhone Springboard.

STEP 2

Add the following source to Cydia:

http://cydia.pushfix.info

STEP 3

Once you have added the above mentioned source, go to Search tab and search for blacksn0w rc2 and install it.

It will unlock your iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G.

STEP 4

Reboot your iPhone.. That’s it

You have successfully unlocked iPhone 3GS, 3G firmware 3.1.3 on 05.11.07 baseband.

Seriously, the people who really lose here are the customers. These sites are full of blatant lies, claiming to have unlocks for 05.11.07 People buy them, and are told the unlock is in development, and the release date is unknown. Imagine you bought a cup of coffee and were told it’s in development? Recently, many of these sites sent out e-mails saying they made major breakthroughs and the unlock will be ready 11/04/09. Coincidence that that’s the release date of blacksn0w?

A few days back, GeoHot was offered to unlock Baseband 05.11.07 and win $10,000. In response GeoHot bet to achieve it within 24 Hrs. However it took GeoHot a bit more time to unlock iPhone Baseband 05.11.07 but still impressive.

BlackSn0w baseband 05.11.07 unlock is supposed to unlock any carrier for iPhone 3GS and 3G. GeoHot is still testing the BackSn0w and it is not out for public yet. We will keep you posted as there comes any update from GeoHot.

Good news for Unlock community and especially for those who accidentally updated their iPhones to latest firmware. Geohot has announced that the BlackSn0w: the unlock for iPhone Baseband  05.11.07 is coming soon.

So the BlackSn0w will be the Unlock for all iPhones including Baseband 05.11.07.

To clarify, I have arbitrary code running on the baseband.

To make it more simple, once you have managed to get your own code running on the baseband the next step will be to write and run the code which executes the unlock.
