Apple has sent invites to the press for a special media event on March 2nd. The company will likely unveil the iPad 2. The event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10:00 am.

Verizon iPhone 4 is now available for pre-order. Both Apple and Verizon has started accepting pre-orders for the iPhone 4 CDMA model. These pre-ordered devices will arrive “by February 10”.

According to a patent, folks at Apple have plans for a new antenna design that hides behind logo on future iPhones and other iDevices. The latest patent filing, shows an antenna placement behind the logo to allow better reception without metal or other housing walls causing interference.

Jay “Saurik” Freeman, the creator of Cydia Store for iOS, has confirmed that Cydia for Mac OS X will be launched “within weeks”. At 360|MacDev conference, he gave an overview of his upcoming Cydia store for Mac OS X, cycript, and Cydia Substrate.

Apple has launched the iPad in 11 more countries today, namely Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Malaysia, Norway, Poland, Portugal, South Korea, Sweden, and Taiwan.

Apple Working on a Special SIM Card to Cut Out the Carriers?

According to GigaOm, Apple may be working on a special SIM card to cut iPhone carriers out of the retail process. GigaOm’s sources inside European carriers claims that Apple is working with Gemalto, a SIM card manufacturer, to bring a custom SIM card integrated into the iPhone itself.
