Apple Announces Apple Watch Series 4

Apple has finally unveiled Apple Watch Series 4 at its media event at Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park on September 12, 2018. The Apple Watch Series 4 is exactly what we have seen in the leaks. In fact, the leaks of the actual press photos that the company used to unveil the new Apple Watch to the world.

Apple Watch Series 4 comes with a stunning new display. The company has stretched the screen towards the edges and curved it at the corners to match the shape of a watch. The new Apple Watch Series 4 has a 30% bigger screen than the series 3 Apple Watch.

The case size remains unchanged other than being thinner making the overall volume less than Apple Watch Series 3. Apple has redesigned the User-interface to take advantage of the new larger display on the Apple Watch.

Apple has added more content in photos, maps, calendar apps on the Watch. The company has also introduced new Watchfaces to take advantage of a bigger real estate. The new interface allows you to add contacts to watch face for one-tap access to them. The redesigned modular face provides more info from stocks, heart rate, activity.

Breathe app now becomes a Watchface. Just raise your hand to be guided into… take a breath. There are Dynamic new Watchfaces that interact with the display: fire, water, vapor.

Apple has redesigned the digital crown on Apple Watch Series 4 and now it includes haptic feedback. The speaker on the new Apple Watch has also been redesigned to make it louder. The rear of the Watch is made of black ceramic with a sapphire crystal display.

Apple Watch Series 4 is powered by a new dual-core 64-bit S4 processor. The new chip is designed by Apple’s own team in silicon to improve performance. The company claims the new chip to provide twice the performance of its predecessor. The company has also improved accelerometer and gyroscope.

Apple Watch Series 4 is capable of detecting falls and it will automatically trigger a call to emergency services if you’re immobile for a minute after the fall.

The Apple Watch Series 4 will also screen heart rhythm for irregularities that appear to be atrial fibrillation, but the real new addition is to take an ECG. This will make Apple Watch be the first ECG product offered over the counter directly to the consumer. To trigger ECG, simply open an app and put your finger on the digital crown.
