LiberiOS 11.0.1 Update Released to Jailbreak iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2; Checkout What’s New

A few days ago, Jonathan Levin – a hacker and developer released the first iOS 11 jailbreak called LiberiOS for iOS 11 – 11.1.2. The LiberiOS jailbreak is capable of jailbreaking iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and any other device capable of running iSO 11.1.2 – iOS 11. Well, there’s an update available for the jailbreak tool. Hit the jump to learn more.

While the jailbreak worked just fine, but for some users, it failed to jailbreak their iOS device due to “missing offset” error. The developer has now fixed the error with a new LiberiOS jailbreak update. The update also pushes an updated GUI.

Here is the official changelog for the LiberiOS 11.0.1:

  • Now with a proper GUI thanks to the talented @horatiohno
  • Supports all i-Devices, thanks to ARX8x
  • Also, even more stable due to proper cleanup in one special case. Shouldn’t crash on you, but let me know if it does.
  • AMFId can be killed, be reborn, but will be just as debilitated?
  • Arbitrary Dylib loading works. NO, CYDIA SUBSTRATE WON’T. Not my problem – @Saurik owns this one
As mentioned in the release notes, it still doesn’t include Cydia, so it won’t be easy to install jailbreak tweaks, and most of the tweaks won’t work because Cydia Substrate is not compatible with iOS 11 – iOS 11.1.2. Saurik is working on Cydia for iOS 11, so we hope it is released soon.

If you were among those unable to jailbreak your device with the first LiberiOS IPA release, then you should try LiberiOS 11.0.1.  Please keep in mind that LiberiOS is free to download if someone asks you to pay then most likely it is a scam.

We have a dedicated page to download LiberiOS jailbreak tool. If you need help with the jailbreak process, check out our step-by-step guide to jailbreak iOS 11.1.2 with LiberiOS jailbreak tool on any compatible iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch.

If you were able to complete the jailbreak process with the first release of Liber iOS, there is nothing you should do. However, if you want to re-jailbreak with the updated version of the jailbreak tool, follow the same IPSW sideloading process mentioned in the guide linked above.

Please keep in mind that LiberiOS still does not include Cydia or update MobileSubstrate. Saurik is currently working on making Cydia compatible with iOS 11. He has also said that the jailbreak community may end up with 3 or more high profile jailbreak tools and one of these tools is going to come with a remarkably different implementation.
