Just after a week of releasing iOS 11.0.1 software update, Apple on Tuesday has released another minor iOS 11.0.2 firmware update for compatible iPhone, iPhone, and iPod Touch devices.
Update: You can now download iOS 11.1 download for iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
The most prominent fix that iOS 11.0.2 has added is for the static or crackling sound that some of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus owners experience through the earpiece while on a FaceTime or a cellular call. The iOS 11.0.2 software update carries a build number of 15A421.
You can download and install iOS 11.0.1 as an Over-The-Air (OTA) update. Which is available under Settings > General > Software Update right from your iOS device. If somehow, the OTA update does not appear on your device, you can download iOS 11.0.2 IPSW file from the download links below.
The official changelog for iOS 11.0.2 released by Apple includes performance improvements and bug fixes for the compatible iOS devices:
- Fixes an issue where crackling sounds may occur during calls for a small number of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus devices
- Addresses an issue that could cause some photos to become hidden
- Fixes an issue where attachments in S/MIME encrypted emails would not open
