WhatsApp Web version now available on iPhone

WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging platform available for iPhone and other mobile operating systems. The service is getting better for the iPhone users as the long-awaited WhatsApp Web has officially rolled out for iPhone.

WhatsApp Web was introduced back in January this year, but it remained exclusive to all mobile operating systems except the iOS. Thankfully though the service is now also rolled out to iPhone users as well which means that iOS users will now be able to use WhatsApp directly from their web browser on their computer through an iPhone.

WhatsApp Web allows users to access their WhatsApp conversations directly through a web browser on their PC. Users can even send and receive messages to their WhatsApp contacts from a desktop web browser and keeps the conversations in sync with the iPhone. The same service is also available on Android, BlackBery, Windows Phone, and some of the Nokia devices as well.

You can access the WhatsApp web client on your iPhone by going into Settings menu of the WhatsApp app installed on your device and then tap on WhatsApp Web option. You may not find the option right now as the service is currently rolling out to masses as we speak. Just sit tight and wait for the update to hit your device.

If the WhatsApp Web option is there under Settings menu, here’s is how to use it:

  1. Make sure that you’re running the latest version of WhatsApp. You can install updates from App Store.
  2. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone, go to Settings menu, and tap on WhatsApp web followed by Scan QR Code. This will launch QR code scanner.
  3. Open web.whatsapp.com in a web browser on your computer and scan the visible QR code using your iPhone. You WhatsApp conversation should now appear in your desktop web browser.

It appears, after checking, that this facility will not work with users using Jailbroken devices.
