An individual who claims to be a representative of China Telecom, Apple’s official carrier partner in China, has reportedly confirmed numerous iPone 6s features that have been rumored over and over since last few months, ahead of its official launch in the coming month. And there’s a bad news for those excited about a new color option for the iPhone 6s.
An alleged representative of China Telecom, Apple’s strategic partner in the Chinese market, turned to Weibo, a Chinese microblogging platform, and reportedly confirmed a number of rumored specifications for Apple’s next-generation iPhone models including Apple A9 processor, 2GB of RAM module, Force Touch display, and an improved camera.
He also said that Apple will be launching the product sometime between September 18 and September 25 in the Chinese market. September 18 is the date that we’ve already heard over and over for the iPhone 6s hitting shelves in the US. There is nothing new in this report that we have not heard of to date. However, the alleged China telecom rep shared another piece of information that won’t please many iPhone fans.
Apple is widely expected to launch iPhone 6s in a new color option as well, but this latest report claims that there is no sign of a new color option for Apple’s next-generation iPhones.
Admitantly, the report is very sketchy and there is no way to confirm the identity of the individual and that he really is a China Telecom’s representative. Let’s assume he’s who he claims to be, still it’s highly unlikely of Apple to reveal technical specs to its carrier partners ahead of the launch of an unreleased product.
So take this report with a pinch of salt for now. While the claimed specs and the launch dates are what we’ve been hearing over and over for the past few months, still you should not rely on them until Apple officially launches the device and shares its specs.
