iPhone 6s Plus retail packaging leaks

Photo of an alleged iPhone 6s Plus packaging box has been leaked into the wild. The folks over the cnBeta have published a photo of what they claim to be the retail packaging. The photos show a box similar to the one Apple shipped an iPhone 6 packed-in.

The unfolded box shown in the photo clear reveals that Apple will be calling iPhone 6 Plus successor the iPhone 6s Plus along with a new wallpaper which probably will be released with the new iPhone devices.

Other than sharing a photo of an alleged iPhone 6s Plus retail packaging, the report also claims that the next-generation iPhone devices will pack a smaller sized battery compared to the current iPhone models. The report suggests 1715mAh battery for iPhone 6s and 2750mAh battery for the iPhone 6s Plus. Just for the comparison, the current iPhone 6 has a battery with 1800mAh capacity and the iPhone 6 Plus comes packed with a battery of 2910mAh capacity.

While the news of a smaller battery for iPhones 6s is perfectly in line with some of the previous reports, it’s unclear if this would negatively impact the battery life of the upcoming iPhone or not. It is possible that Apple is very confident that its new A9 chip, display, modem, and other key components that the company is ging to pack inside the device are enough power efficient to deliver a better battery performance over the current generation devices.

If everything as planned, Apple is widely expected to unveil its new iPhone model on September 9 during a media event. The devices are said to go up for pre-order on September 11 followed by a launch on September 18.
