Apple to launch iMac with 8K Display ‘later this year’, claims LG

In a unusual move, in a press release, LG has explicitly mentioned about a high resolution 8K display that the company is working on to make for Apple’s upcoming iMac that will be announced “later this year.”

In a press release, posted on the company’s website, LG inadvertently leaked Apple’s upcoming iMac with 8K resolution. The press release explicitly mentioned that “Apple has also announced that they will release the ‘iMac 8K’ with a super-high resolution display later this year”. LG highlights benefits of 8K Quad UHD (7680 x 4320) resolution displays – which have double the pixels found on a 4K resolution display.

New-iMacs

Apple, of course, has not official reveal its plans to launch an iMac with whopping 8K resolution. So the statement from the Korean base company is false. Additionally, There have been no rumors related to an iMac with 8K display from Apple at all, so this leak most probably is false.

Te Cupertino based company is known to cut ties with those suppliers who disclose Apple’s yet to be revealed products. Neither Apple not LG commented on the matter as of this post time. Since it was only last year that Apple launched an iMac with 5K resolution, chances of an iMac revision with 8K display are very slim.

Apple’s current 27-inch iMac comes with a Retina display, featuring 5,120?by?2,880 pixels IPS LCD display.
