Apple stops signing iOS 8.1.1 firmware

Apple has finally closed the signing window for iOS 8.1.1, which is half bad news and half good. This means that you can no longer downgrade and install iOS 8.1.1 on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch. All the iOS device owners will be forced to restore to current latest iOS 8.1.2 firmware.

The good part of the news is that Apple is still signing iOS 8.1.2, which is currently latest iOS version. Fortunately, TaiG jailbreak supports iOS 8.1.2 on all the supported devices, so jailbreakers need not to be worry about losing their jailbreak by upgrading to iOS 8.1.2.

iOS 8.1.1 signing

It’s interested to note that iOS 8.1.1 signing window is still open for Apple TV 3 and its other revisions. All other supported devices including iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, remain closed.

Since we already have TaiG jailbreak for iOS 8.1.2 which can easily be restored on all supported devices, so this closure of iOS 8.1.1 signing window, is not much of importance here. But, when Apple is going to release iOS 8.1.3 and it patches TaiG jailbreak, it’ll be of utmost importance to know which firmware Apple is currently signing.

Here’s everything related to iOS 8.1.2:

Download iOS 8.1.2
Install iOS 8.1.2 using iTunes
Download TaiG
Jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 on any supported iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch model.

Are you still running iOS 8.1.1 or have already upgraded to iOS 8.1.2? Did you jailbreak iOS 8.1.2 with TaiG? Let us know in the comments section below.
