iTunes Store has inadvertently leaked the next generation iPad Air and iPad mini in screenshots of iOS 8.1 iPad user guide that made its way into the iBooks store earlier than the usual release. The iOS 8.1 iPad user guide includes Apple’s upcoming iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3. Of course Apple is all set to unveil these devices, during a media event, on October 16th.
The iPad user guide indicates that the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 will feature Touch ID fingerprint sensor in the home button, which is currently found in iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s only. Both new tablets will have nearly an identical design to their last generation models. Another new feature confirmed by the user guide is an improved camera with burst mode for the iPad Air 2. The iPad user guide also indicated that both new iPad devices will be running iOS 8.1.
The images also shows that the next generation models of iPad Air and iPad mini will be called “iPad Air 2” and “iPad mini 3” respectively. Availability of iOS 8.1 iPad user guide also points towards the release of iOS 8.1 to the general public tomorrow.
As suggested by previous rumors, featuring Touch ID suggests that these new iPad models will support Apple Pay, Apple’s own mobile payment system which will be available on their own retail stores real soon. Other than the features mentioned above, one can also expected a stronger A8X processor, improved camera sensor and gold color option.
