iPhone 6 was the biggest launch day ever, says At&T. In a press release, AT&T states that the number of pre-orders for the iPhone 6 and the iPhone 6 Plus has set a new record in their history. Earlier, the company’s CEO had claimed that the carrier has already secured “hundreds of thousands” of pre-orders for the latest generation of iPhone.
“It was a terrific day for our customers and us. This is our biggest iPhone, pre-order launch day ever. When you combine our best-pricing, the nation’s most reliable 4G LTE network, and a service experience that leads the industry, iPhone customers who choose AT&T win,” said Glenn Lurie, president and CEO of AT&T Mobility.
AT&T didn’t reveal the actual number of pre-orders they received. Apple also announced that “response to iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus has been incredible with a record number of preorders overnight.”
iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus pre-order started at 12.01 AM Pacific on Apple’s site. However, AT&T started taking orders a bit earlier, that might have added a lot to the number of orders. Apple’s website was experiencing problems for about three hours due to which many customers would have ended up ordering through AT&T’s website.
