iOS 8 beta 1 download for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch is available to developer now! Wait is over and Apple has finally seeded first beta of iOS 8 – Apple’s next major firmware release for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch – to the developers. Registered developers can download iOS 8 beta 1 from the iOS Dev Center for free!
Earlier today, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook announced iOS 8 during the opening keynote at WWDC 2014 in Moscone Center, San Francisco. iOS 8 does not only bring major features for general users, it’s also a massive update for developers. Some of the major new addition to iOS 8 include: quick reply, predictive keyboard, Swype like keyboard support, much awaited widgets, HealthKit and HomeKit, and much more. The build number of iOS 8 beta is 12A4265u.
iOS 8 beta 1 is compatible with the following devices:
- iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4S
- iPad Air iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2
- Retina iPad mini, iPad mini 1
- iPod touch 5
Apple has dropped support for iPhone 4 starting with iOS 8. If you’re a registered iOS developer, you can download iOS 8 beta for your supported iPhone, iPad or IPod Touch from the direct download links available in iOS Dev Center: developer.apple.com/ios.
For non-developers, even if you get IPSW or .dmg file for the beta of iOS 8, please note that you cannot activate your device on a beta without a registered UDID in the member’s portal.
