AllThingsDigital, a well-known tech blog operated by The Wall Street Journal, reports that Apple will be holding its next-generation iPad event on Tuesday, Octover 22. The event will reported be iPad focused and major announcements expected during the event include iPad 5 and iPad mini 2, though new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks should also get some stage time…
Here’s what John Paczkowski has written on AllThingsD:
People familiar with Apple’s plans tell AllThingsD that the company will hold its next invitation-only event on Tuesday October 22. The focal point of the gathering will the latest updates to the company’s iPad line, but new Mac Pro and OS X Mavericks will likely get some stage time as well, I’m told.
Apple will likely announce its full-sized iPad (iPad 5?) and a new iPad mini (iPad mini 2?) during the event. iPad 5 is expected to come in a thinner and lighter exterior inspired from iPad mini, may sport A7 chipset and possibly a fingerprint sensor. On the other hand iPad mini 2 is speculated to be similar in looks to the original ipad mini, but with improved hardware, fingerprint sensor and may come loaded with a Retina display.
Jim Dalrymple of The Loop, who is known for his one word responses related to Apple’s rumors and has almost perfect track record, has also confirmed that the iPad event will be held on October 22 with his typical response: “Yep.”
Invitation to the iPad event are expected to be sent out next week. We will update you as we learn more about this upcoming event. Are you planning on buying a new iPad?
