A new video has appeared in the cloud showing alleged rear casing of the much anticipated low-cost iPhone 5C with plastic exterior. The video is posted by Taiwan’s Apple Daily, which shows how scratch-resistance iPhone 5C plastic shell is and also provides some precise measurements for the lower-cost iPhone…
Here are the measurements shown in the video: height: 124.55 mm, width: 59.13 mm, thickness: 8.98 mm, which shows iPhone 5C to be slightly larger than the current iPhone 5 due to its plastic finish.
The video also shows that the back casing of iPhone 5C is highly scratch resistant. The site put the back case of alleged iPhone 5C through a scratch resistant test by putting the back casing in a bag full of coins and a key, shaked it vigorously. They noted that as per its source the device will include a reinforced material that will protect from everyday wear and tear. They report that the rear casing scores a “8H” rating on pencil hardness test, three times that of a PET film that is typically used to protect iPhone display.
The report also notes that the iPhone 5S will feature dual-LED flash for improved low-light performance. The iPhone 5S shown in the video is blue in color, which we assume is for illustration purposes only.
Apple is widely expected to unveil iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C at a media event on September 10 and a release date of September 20th.
