Apple’s aggressively rumored low-cost ‘iPhone 5C’ may come equipped with a 8MP camera sensor similar to the one found in iPhone 5, reports Chinese site IT168. The site has posted a photo of an alleged iPhone 5C camera module…
The current iPhone 5 has an 8-megapixel camera sensor covered with sapphire crystal. The photo shared by the Chinese website shows the same camera sensor alleged for ‘iPhone 5C’.
While the iPhone 5C is labeled as a low-cost budget iPhone, it’s expected to inherit many features and specs from the current iPhone 5 enclosed in a plastic exterior. Using similar parts as that of an iPhone 5 will allows Apple to save the cost of sourcing new parts. It’s also being speculated that with the launch of iPhone 5C, Apple will discontinue iPhone 5.
iPhone 5C will potentially incorporate the 8MP camera just like the iPhone 5. On the other hand, the next generation iPhone 5S is expected to bring a 12MP camera sensor with improved low light photography.
Considering all the rumored to date, the low cost iPhone 5C is expected to come in multiple bright color plastic shells with an estimated price tag between $450 and $550. The iPhone 5C is expected to launch in early September.
