Apple has just released iOS 6.1 (download iOS 6.1). Planetbeing from the newly formed evad3rs jailbreak team confirms that the vulnerabilities used in their iOS 6 jailbreak are still present in the final release of iOS 6.1. Which means the untethered jailbreak will work on iOS 6 firmware…
This is what Planetbeing has tweeted:
iOS 6.1 appears to be vulnerable to the exploits we are planning on using. 🙂
In terms of code, we have two proof of concepts that we need to merge and polish, so we will not be ready to release until that and testing.
To further intesify the anticipation, Musclenerd, whoc’s also a member of Evad3rs, has just tweeted that the team might release the iOS 6.1 jailbreak on Superbowl Sunday:
