iOS 6.1 beta 4 is now available for download. Apple has released iOS beta 4 to the iOS developers. Beta 4 is reportedly the last beta version for iOS 6.1 firmware. It’s available fore iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. A new iOS is also released for Apple TV.
If you’re running iOS 6.1 beta 3, simply go to Settings > General > Software Update and check for the updates and install it. iOS 6 beta 4 delta (over-the-air) update rings in at a modest 56.5 MB, while the full fledged IPSW update comes in at 896 MB when downloaded directly from Apple’s iOS Dev Center.
iOS 6.1 brings performance improvements and bug fixes. Other features include:
- Reseting advertising identifier
- Voice dial only (picking the language for voice dialing)
- Better Passbook intro
- iCloud settings to help FaceTime and Messages hook up the first time
- Toggling to use cellular data for iTunes
- Ability to book movie tickets using Siri
- Better Maps error reporting
- Slightly tweaked music controls on the lock screen
- Improved Map kit for searching in Maps for developers
