Within a day of the launch, iPad mini has already been jailbroken. MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev-Team reports that @phoenixdev @chpwn has successfully jailbreak iPad mini. Hit the jump to learn more about iPad mini jailbreak development…
MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev-Team has just tweeted that the “failbreak” (more about it below) from Chpwn and Phoenix dev is successfully working on iPad mini. This is what MuscleNerd tweeted:
the “failbreak” from @phoenixdev @chpwn in action on an iPad-mini http://t.co/ucWGGGP0 (why failbreak? see @planetbeing’s timeline)
Why failbreak and not jailbreak? Because it’s identical to a tethered jailbreak but requires iOS developers account which renders it illigal for general public. A failbreak is meant for jailbreak apps developers only so that they may prepare their apps for iOS 6 or iOS 6.0.1 compatibility.
This is what Planetbeing had tweeted about failbreak jailbreak for iPhone 5 which now also works on iPad mini:
Upgraded the #failbreak with a kernel exploit so tweaks actually work on iPhone 5. 😀 Almost a full tethered JB, though need dev account.
We’ll update you on iPad mini jailbreak as we learn more about it, stay tuned!
