How to Jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 with Sn0wbreeze 2.9.5 [iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad, iPod Touch 4G, 3G]

Sn0wbreeze 2.9.5 can jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 untethered on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and iPod Touch 4G, 3G. These are the steps to jailbreak iOS 5.1.1 untethered with Sn0wbreeze 2.9.5 on your iPhone 4, 3GS, iPad 1 and iPod Touch 4G, 3G.

Sn0wbreeze, just like PwnageTool, creates custom firmware using iOS 5.1.1 to jailbreak iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Custom firmware not only jailbreaks your iDevice, it also preserves your iPhone baseband to its current version which lets iPhone unlockers to use UltraSn0w or Gevey SIM. So, jailbreak with custom firmware is recommended for those iPhone users who depend on UltraSn0w or Gevey SIM unlock.

NOTES:

iPhone users: If you do NOT depend on UltraSn0w/Gevey SIM unlock, Absinthe 2.0.2 is the recommended iOS 5.1.1 jailbreak for you:

could you please confirm, in case i want to preserve baseband, the only point is to mark the “Activate the iPhone [Hactivate]” option? It is not quite clear in the explanation above.

Regarding your warning “Check mark Activate the iPhone [Hactivate] only if you do NOT have the official carrier SIM card;” I don’t clearly understand. What’s the impact if I checked mark against this? Actually, I followed steps above, everything looks good except “No Service” when I inserted cell phone carrier SIM card. I’m not sure if it caused from checking [Hactivate]. If it’s, what I should do, rebuild IPSW without checking [Hactivate] or other option to avoid restore 5.1.1. Thank you.

    hi all
I have used the above way to upgrade my iphone4 (oldios:4.3.3 , BB:4.10.01 ) to ios 5.1.1 Hoodoo 9B208 with snowbreez 2.9.5 without AT&T simcard – i used Hacktivation mode ( it’s preserve baseband it self) and with gevey simcard just get signals, and NOW every thing works fine,
    thanks every one
    thumbs up
