Some of the iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G owners trying to jailbreak with RedSn0w may have experienced errors while using custom ramdisks. The iPhone Dev-team has updated RedSn0w to RedSn0w 0.9.10b5c to fix the errors with custom ramdisks

RedSn0w 0.9.10b5c fixes an issue with using custom ramdisks on iPhone3G and iPod2G, and prevents redsn0w from crashing due to the ever-growing ramdisk size.

Since there isnt any reply to my last post ( im assuming the thread was old) i decided to try one more
I accidentally flash my Iphone 3g[s] 8gb with Toshiba chip to baseband 6.15.00
Now my phone is stuck at the opening screen where it says activation required. But iTunes does not recognize my phone despite having official sim.
Could you please tell me how can fix it?
i dont need to unlock it, just want it back to normal
Thanks in advance

Hey Simon, some of the later 3gs models have the new toshiba baseband chip which (if you didn’t do enough research) when you flash the 06.15.00 baseband to them, it bricks your device.

“How does Apple prevent people from unlocking their brand new iPhone 3GS 8GB? They replaced one of the components inside! As it turns out any 3GS produced after week 28 of year 2011 (sometime in July) is made with Toshiba baseband chip, as opposed to Infineon baseband chip.”

If you used one of the latest Redsn0ws to do it, there should have been a warning message telling you about this when you ticked the box to flash your iPhone’s baseband.

In short, you have bricked your phone and there is no current method of fixing it. Possibly you can replace the baseband chip on the motherboard, but that could be expensive and it’s illegal to change the IMEI number on your phone (which you would most likely have to do aswell)

Sorry about the bad news mate.

I believe flashing the base to 6.15.0(iPad baseband) can not be reversed. I can only suggest getting another iPhone. Sorry.

they couldnt fix it either, thus they replace my iphone

Always great finding information for the older generation iPhones. Thanks for posting this up, been a huge help. Does anyone know is RedSn0w has gone through any updates to accommodate the newer generation iPhone? If not what is everyone using?
