Apple has seeded the iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 to developers just after the two days following the release of iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1. iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 carries a built number of 9A402.
It is safe to say that it does whatever iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 did – such as fixed bugs affecting battery life, enabled multitasking gestures iPad 1 and fixed the Smart Cover security flaw, among other things…
If you’re a registered developer and running iOS 5.0.1 beta 1, you can download iOS 5.0.1 as a delta (over-the-air) update under Settings > General > Software Update.. or download a standalone IPSW firmware file from the iOS Dev Center.
The RedSn0w 0.9.9b8 can jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 beta 1 by pointing it to beta 1 or iOS 5 IPSW. There’s no info about if the Sn0wbreeze works on beta 2 or not.
iOS 5.0.1 is available for iPhone 4S, 4, 3GS, iPad 2, iPad and iPod Touch 4G, 3G. There’s no mention of release date, but you can expect it before December.
Download iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 for iOS Dev Center.
