How to Enable WiFi-Sync in iOS 5 to Wirelessly Sync iPhone with iTunes

Among other features, iOS 5 also brings WiFi Sync feature to your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch to wirelessly Sync iPhone with iTunes. These are the steps to enable Wi-Fi Sync and then wirelessly sync your iPhone with iTunes on your computer.

How to Enable WiFi-Sync in iOS 5

  1. Restore iOS 5 on your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch (Skip this step if you’re already running iOS 5)
  2. Make sure you’re running iTunes 10.5 or later on your computer
  3. Put your computer and your iDevice on the same WiFi network
  4. Open iTunes, Plug in your idevice into your computer
  5. In iTunes, go to Summary tab under your connected device, check mark/enable the “Sync over Wi-Fi connection” option ad Sync it while USB still connected.

That’s it! Now you can unplug the USB connection and sync your iPhone with iTunes wirelessly over the same WiFi network.

You can initiate the Wi-Fi Sync from your iPhone under (Settings -> General -> iTunes Wi-Fi Sync)

A little WiFi-Sync working circle appears next to WiFi icon on your iPhone when you initiate the wireless sync.

i update itunes to 10.6 n iphone 3gs to 5.1.1 now i m having problem to sync my iphone with my computer. why?
