FaceTime / MMS Issue: How to Fix

Stuck at the purple screen:

  • Go to: Settings > Safari and clear Browser History, Cookies and Cache.
  • Then Reboot your iDevice.

Hanging on slide to unlock:

  • Put it in airplane mode then turn it off.

Misc.

  • Reset Network Settings: Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings

    Im having trouble doing this on my iPhone 3g 5.11.07 3.1.2

    it downloads, and when its installing or whatever ( it says sit tight) it goes to about 1/3 and craps out on me. Sometimes it says “cydia has been added to your home screen!” but still stays on 3.1.2

    any suggestions?

    I believe JailbreakMe does not do the update from lower OS like 3.1.2, 3.1.3 to the latest OS.

    By releasing version 2.0 here, I believe it means it can be used to JB 3.1.2 & 3 at their current OS version (just like the predecessor Spirit).. sort of backward compatability thingy

    I am also a ‘hoper’ :) Waiting for a complete jailbreak tool that does 3.1.x to 4x in 1 go. Guess its too much to ask at this moment. JailbreakMe is already quite ahead of the game.

    Trying it now takes a while…… after 3/4 it seems to free and the device appears to be dead…. guess what stay calm it finally pops a message saying cydia has been added. click ok and find cydia…. remember to disable the auto lock and u should see it thru… this is awesome… Cydia loading fine phone now unlocked and jail broken… I am on 3.1.2 and have spent most of the weekend trying to jailbreak my phone. redsn0w would not accept the ipsw file for some reason even though i restored using itunes fine….

    now to upgrade to 4.1 and see what happens..

    I have iPod touch 3g with 3.1.3 FW and when i slide to jailbreak on jailbreakme it either restarts my ipod or crashes the website
